A battle took place between the Ancient and Beast cookies, temporarily allowing the heroes to determine the fate of the olden cookies. Pure Vanilla Cookie knew they couldn’t depend on seals forever–they had to end the evil within. The best way was to offer companionship, even though neither side wanted to do it.
But among the Ancients, Dark Cacao Cookie seemed content the most, uncharacteristically. He loved her so much, yet knew there was nothing he could do for his apathetic counterpart. So, he decided to cherish the moments they share, no matter how futile they are for Mystic Flour Cookie. This was the life of the fatherly resolute, and motherly apathetic.
Alas, the era of peace wasn’t going to last forever. The Dark Cacao Kingdom, faced with the corpse-riding Moldswept Crisis, had to unite as one again with familiar faces making their appearance. But faced with their fated end born out of unalive creatures and burning emotions, could they survive this nightmare?
Or: Mystic Flour Cookie accidentally "mothers" a nation into mental well-being, including the lovedrunk king.

“Be back later,” was the last thing Marina had heard before the door to the mixing booth closed with a gentle click and the clomp of Pearl’s favored clunky boots echoed into nothingness.
And now Pearl is nowhere to be found in the studio, or at home, or the park or Humpback Pump Track or even her favorite snack spot. The shoe store had been a last ditch effort, and Marina had politely waved off the sales crab attempting to lure her in with a new pair of boots. She left the warmth of the shop with empty hands and an emptier heart.
Pearl isn’t the type to just take off. That has always been Marina – easily overwhelmed and eager to clear her head under wide open skies. She knows Pearl had spent a small fortune to get the internet working even on the edges of the Houzuki property just for her sake, back when she was crashing in her spare bedroom and trying to learn Inklish vocab between time spent fooling around in the studio together.

Acht refused to become the eight thousandth octoling to fall in love with the first inkling they became friends with. It was already kind of silly that had happened to Marina and they were far too busy to meet the same fate of shenanigans. They've walked into enough pits of death, thank you very much.
Unfortunately, now they might have to call themself a hypocrite. They may have fallen in love within a single weekend. And they have to prevent that from becoming true at any cost. Especially if they'd tripped themselves into falling for a shooting star.

He didn't even get in trouble for the first two, since he's a completely different person in Splatsville. When he's home, she's Amy, but whatever name and pronouns he's using, he'd rather not have things get pinned on his identical twin sister. (Who, let's be clear, was the one who dared him to drink the fizzy bomb.)

Takes place roughly a year or so before the events of Splatoon 3.
Although writing for this project began before Splatoon 3's release, "EiG:BSF" has been labeled 'canon compliant' to the Splatoon series after extensive research and confirmation. Previously updated on Saturdays.
