The Administrator has a right hand bathed in shadow that she casts upon the battlefield. The mercenaries give this shadow a name and bestow upon her what the Administrator had failed to: personhood. Shelly, as she's named, slowly becomes acclimated to the ranks of the hired muscle she works in the shadow of.

The BLU Spy’s thumb strokes along an exposed patch of skin along your stomach as a sort of bizarre apology. The tenderness of the invisible gesture catches you off guard. “You’re still a bastard,” you hiss without much venom, and you can feel his amused chuckle more so than hear it as he slits your throat.

"Do they? I'd say it was a pretty sweet one." He cocked an eyebrow.
"Oh, I'm sure. The kind of sweet dream a maniac like you has, certainly. What were you thinking about now? Something to do with breaking bones, yes?"
Was he trying to tempt you? "Are you trying to tempt me?" You looked at his wrist. It was still in your hand, now completely still. He shuddered, the act obviously for show, to get the message across: he thought you were gross.
"God, no," he said. "Only the most disturbed of minds would miss the obvious scorn and interpret it as an invitation instead."
Spy brat correction. The reader is a male mercenary from RED who has an unhealthy infatuation with the BLU Spy.

Summary
In a world populated by magic and monsters, certain men develop certain ecclectic tastes. Sniper is very much one of them, the amiable Australian collecting experiences most illicit. He tracks down creatures sapient yet monstrous, and endeavors to bed them.
This series' chronology is vague, but is presented here in order.
The majority of this series was written before The Naked and the Dead came out, and thus before Spy was revealed as Scout's father. In the continuity of this series, that is only true of RED Scout and RED Spy. BLU Scout and BLU Spy are entirely unrelated in this series, however, for reasons that become pretty clear in Playing With Fire.
