“Shut up or I'll fill you up,” Henry threatens. “I’ll get a strong son on you.”
Something flutters in Hans’s chest. “I'm not a fucking maid, Henry.” He struggles a little more, just for show, and Henry pins his hands above his head.
“Could be,” Henry counters, grinning. “My maid, my girl, the way you take me.”

Summary
Arthur’s hands didn’t wait for his own permission once they had Merlin’s, and they began instantly the essential work of memorizing the feel of Merlin’s body changed. He didn’t fight the magnetism that drew him first to trace the long line that drew all the way across Merlin’s ribcage before running flattened palms up over the straight lines and hard muscle of his chest.
“Sorry you didn’t get to say goodbye,” Merlin quipped, and though his voice was still quiet and shaky, it almost sounded like he had managed a joke.

Uther needs a moment to work through all that.
“Romantically,” he clarifies. “I meant romantically.”
(Uther learns that Merlin is the son of the last dragonlord. He sends him away with Balinor in exchange for a promise that Kilgharrah will not attack Camelot again, and in doing absolutely shatters Arthur's heart. In a flare of fatherly regret, he does what he feels he must to soothe Arthur's distress, which includes trying to figure out what it is that Arthur likes so much about Merlin in the first place.)

Gripping each other’s arms before battle was the most heartfelt touch they exchanged. Lingering soft touches were not done. Any lingering touch on his person could be interpreted as political movements. After all, Arthur’s body wasn’t his own. It never had been. He was Camelot’s first and foremost. Even above his own needs and wants.

Summary
When Merlin is caught trying to help a wrongly convicted man, Arthur claims responsibility and takes the punishment for him. While Merlin struggles to process what Arthur has sacrificed for him, Arthur finds himself having to reconsider his relationship with his father, his kingdom, and the people he has sworn to protect.

The guards took this as their cue, and on Uther’s order Merlin felt his shirt torn from his body with a sound all too much like tearing flesh for comfort. Stood only in his worn brown breeches and weathered boots, he could feel for the first time how fiercely the sun beat down on his bare skin: how exposed he was, with nothing but air between his unprotected back and the whip.
And he was terrified.
It was then that another voice was raised above the crowd: one voice, in all that discontented hush, that dared to ring out above the rest.
“Father! It was me. I ordered him to do it.”
