“Are you sure about this?” Morgana hisses, in what’s probably intended to be a whisper. Akira rolls his eyes.
“Yes,” he says, with grim resolve. “In my entire life, I have never been as sure about anything as I am about this.”
Morgana gives him a dubious stare, flicks at one ear with his paw.
“I know you guys had… some kind of an understanding,” he whispers, in what may be the *literal* understatement of the century. “Back in that other reality. But things were different there, Akira. This is the real world, and that’s a real murderer sitting across from you! You can’t just bring people home like stray dogs!”
“Why not?” Akira asks stubbornly. “It worked out fine with you.”

Summary
To their friends who knew them, Akira Kurusu and Goro Akechi were a little gay, a little insane, and a little rivalrous, despite them having been in a relationship for months already. To the random girl watching the condescending, Karenesque asshole belittle the cocky gremlin of a cook at the local Pancake Homestead diner after said gremlin repeatedly messed up the customer's order on purpose, they were even crazier. These feelings of hers only intensified every time they started fist fighting over it.
OR: The post-canon rivalry and romance of Joker and Crow is put on full display as they continue dueling in the stupidest way imaginable, from an onlooker's point of view.

“You!” he called out, slapping the sheet Niijima had given him onto the bench in front of Kurusu. “What the hell is this, huh?!”
Kurusu looked down, his face as usual perfectly reined in, then up to Goro. A picture of perfect, stunned innocence.
“Your autograph session announcement?” he asked. “I know you think you’re some kind of big deal, but I think I’m good. Thanks for the offer, though.”
Goro’s ears were ringing. Behind Kurusu, he heard Takamaki and Sakamoto giggle. He would tear them all limb from limb, Phantom Thief for Phantom Thief.
“I didn’t announce an autograph session,” he said through gritted teeth. “You did.”
When Goro reports the new delinquent kid at school for bringing his cat to classes, he takes petty revenge on him.

Summary
Canon Divergent AU where Goro and Akira went out for dates, which resulted in people having feelings and things NOT going according to plan. Thus Goro Akechi discovers that redemption is fucking hard when you've killed at least two parents of people you know, that he will need to sort through at least some of his issues before he can properly date anyone, and that he might have more in common with Phantom Thieves than he thought.

“Come on, Ren-kun,” Yukari nudges Ren as he slumps. “I dove into being Pink Argus with little experience myself, and I haven’t regretted it since. Maybe you’ll feel the same.”
Ren thinks about it. His life really couldn’t and shouldn’t revolve completely around the shadow world, he supposes. And he’s not obligated to do any more than this if acting doesn’t agree with him after all.
Ann’s going to freak. Futaba is going to lose her shit.
“You remember the Phantom Thieves of Hearts business a few years back?” The director asks. “It won’t be a complete one to one, but I do have to admit that this series’ plot is loosely based on it.”
Okay, now that’s just unfair. Now Ren has to take the role.
So that’s how Ren becomes a Featherman Ranger.
Or, Amamiya Ren becomes a Featherman actor, bases his character off Akechi, and the real Akechi Goro disastrously simps from afar.

He is too busy standing still, frozen in place.
His rival is… sick?
Ren Amamiya is sick, so he can’t go to the TV studio – and thus, he doesn’t meet the Detective Prince, nor does he make a deal with his Justice.
It won’t stay that way for long though, not if it’s up to Goro Akechi.
Except… Meeting one’s rival is a lot harder than it seems.

It is really fucking inconsiderate of his soulmate, Goro seethes, not letting him know that his murder plans will fall through.
Well, murder and suicide, he supposes, sitting on Amamiya's bed with his arms crossed as the thief falls apart next to him. "This wasn't supposed to happen!"
"You're telling me?" Goro shoots back. "I had a very romantic double suicide planned for us – and you went ahead and ruined it!"
Goro knew for months now that he would have to kill his soulmate. He made his peace with this decision; has made the necessary preparations.
Ren knew for months now that his soulmate would try to kill him. He just never expected said soulmate to kill himself right after.

Well. Ren is pretty sure it was the Black Mask who said the words, not him, but he still kind of ends up nodding, but also shrugging because what the fuck.
Soulmarks are found on everyone’s left arm; the first words your soulmate will say to you.
Usually, this would make meeting your soulmate a relatively easy task.
Ren doesn’t have that kind of luck.

Summary
College admissions were hell. The agonizing thought of trying to compartmentalize every aspect of a human being into an applications essay, running yourself ragged with multiple extracurricular activities for the sake of seeming competitive to universities all across the globe, and the never-ending interview panels of an alumnus trying to gleam something from the layers of mountainous burnout you had put yourself through were some of the most stressful times of your life. Goro wasn't at that point, but he laid awake thinking about it at night. You'd almost think he'd want to coast to the end, collect his achievements, and make the best CV possible so that when applications came, he had the best possible chance. But no, of course not, Goro Akechi and Ren Amamiya were bored. It would be too easy, for both of them. So why not make it a game?
In short: Goro Akechi is Shujin's beloved Student Body President. However, he's bored. His boyfriend proposes they make a game out of it by running against each other. The plot twist? Nobody knows they're dating.
