Finding loopholes in Uther’s laws is no easy feat. Court life is a dangerous game, but it’s one Merlin has every intention of winning so that Arthur can have knights of his choosing by his side.

Just a few months after the Battle of Hogwarts, Draco Malfoy was attacked and disappeared without a trace. With no clues, no viable leads and no suspects the Aurors have no choice but to shelve the case and move on.
3 years later Auror Harry Potter is the only one still searching for Malfoy, the only one who believes he's still alive and intends to bring him home. The music around them muffled the man’s voice a bit, but to Merlin that voice was the clearest one he had heard in centuries. Merlin raised his hand to cover his mouth. His vision got a bit blurry as tears started to form in his eyes. Few managed to escape and they trickled down his pale cheeks. Merlin gasped as the man took few steps towards him. As the years had passed Merlin had seen glimpses of people he had known what felt like an eternity ago. Those glimpses had only been figments of his imagination. But this. This was way too realistic to be just that. This was a face Merlin knew by heart.

The first time I watched Season 5 of Merlin, the first thing that struck me with all the subtlety this show contains (meaning NONE,) was that the UST between Arthur and Merlin had ramped up. A lot. Except it didn't feel like UST. It felt like a whole lot of ‘we hooked up during the time skip’ vibe.
So. My mind promptly decided to start filling in from where Season 4 left off.

Summary
Arthur, Merlin, and the Knights of the Round Table must travel to the Isle of Mona, invited by the eccentric royal family to help teach Arthur about governing a kingdom where magic is a free practice. As a condition of Morgana's surrender the ban was lifted in Camelot and Arthur asked Merlin to learn magic so he had someone he could trust to help him govern. Merlin has been playing the struggling apprentice for months, learning everything he can and pretending not to already know it all.
However, when they land in Mona, all the magic users recognize Emrys and treat him as such. Merlin is forced to confess all to his king and the knights, who agree that until the treaty is signed and they return home, they are going to have to act as if this is all normal. Cue shenanigans, tournaments, worshipers, and more secrets than Arthur knows how to deal with.
The story is a slow burn and a lot is going on, Merlin is polyamorous and Arthur decides he can live with that. This is my first long story, I will try to update often, let me know how I am doing! -
