Just then something sharp and cool and likely metal has been set lightly against the back of her neck and a voice she knows almost as well as her own commands, “Don’t move.”
Lucy cannot see who stands behind her, but she doesn’t need to. She knows, though she can hardly believe it; stands frozen in shock as the others wheel round, reaching for weapons before they stumble to dumbfounded halts. Caspian is open-mouthed. Lucy is grinning.
Edmund says, wonderingly, “Susan?”

a bit late on my note but this was one of my favorite narnia fics to read, both now and when it was posted 🥹 peter & susan on the dawn treader… it’s exactly what i needed
and. and the writing? is just so beautiful?? ive read a few of ur fics before and theyre all just so indescribably wonderful and well written… each character feels like theyre coming directly from the books

Summary
Safe Haven was hard won, and everyone wants to be happy because they’re supposed to be, but they’re aimless.
Thomas walks the beach with ghosts. Minho's got the weight of the world on his shoulders. Brenda keeps trying to wake herself up from a dream. And Gally works himself into the ground in order for everyone to have a roof over their head.
Safe Haven is the beginning of new civilization, but it's got a long ways to go. It needs to take care of them and be taken care of in turn.
So, together, they begin making Safe Haven into their home.
______In which the "munies" go about making their new world. Romance buds and flowers, friendships solidify, and plank by plank they create a stability they never had before.
A post-TDC work that focuses on the creation of Safe Haven.

Peter’s not really doing anything, is the thing. He wanted to be alone, after everything, and this is the only room where he can be, or so he thought. Now Caspian is standing over him, head tilted a little, curiosity warring with uncertainty on his face in the firelight. There is a lock of dark hair falling into darker eyes, and Peter very carefully does not think about reaching up for it, or pushing it out of his face.
“I died here, you know,” he says conversationally instead, as though the feeling of the stone beneath him isn’t one that comes back to him in dreams every night of his life. “Once.”

Didn’t they?
“How do you know?” Thomas asks. He expects a crazy man’s answer, like 'where else would we be?' Like 'can’t you tell?' Like 'I belong to the maze — we all do.'
That’s not what Thomas gets though. Gally only says:
“You’ll know soon enough.”
___Somehow, Thomas and Gally are back in the Glade.
This time, not even Thomas can see a way out.

Summary
The bowl wasn't out there for any particular reason. Once Gally had finished carving it, he had sat it on the front step of his hut, just to be out of his way while he worked on some more. His aim was to make a full set and wax them all so that the settlement had some more cohesive crockery than just the bits and pieces that had been scavenged before the trip over to the island. Admittedly, not a high priority, but Gally was enjoying focussing on something that wasn't life or death, for once.
He never expected to find anything in it.
