“Hey! We got visitors!”
A few of the doors to the nearby cabins open and your eyes move to take in the sight of the men that quickly surround you and Kieran. The poor boy swallows thickly as they circle you in on the main road in their camp, his fear as stark as his face in the lantern light.
“L-Listen, we don’t mean no harm to ya,” Kieran starts, holding his hands up as you try to hold back a moan, “I just... We need passage. Just a place to wait out the storm.”
A low drawl picks up then, and you look over to your side to where a man in a large blue coat stares at you, “Think that’s not the only thing you’re tryin’ to wait out.”

“Punish you for what? Solving a months-long deadlock in my research?” Viktor gawked at the suggestion, “By all means, speak more!”
Golden eyes snapped up to meet his own. Viktor watched as the vastaya’s expression journeyed from astonished, to cautious, and then, finally, fragilely hopeful in real time.
“Seriously?” He whispered.

“Why’re you askin’ me?” Husk asked gruffly, briefly trying to feign ignorance. A single raised brow from Alastor was all it took to squash that recalcitrance out of him, his shoulders and wings dropping. “Yeah, yeah – fine. But why’re you askin’ me now? It ain’t like Angel’s gonna steal his own shit and pretend like it weren’t him. Besides, he ain’t anywhere close to bein’ in heat. It’s not him, boss.”

Items have been going missing around the hotel. Nothing of any value or consequence - just people's personal effects. Regardless of their importance, Alastor cannot simply stand by and let somebody rob folks in his territory, right under his nose.
He sets out to catch the thief - and picks up a less than useful helper along the way in the form of one miniature monarch - but comes up empty handed. Empty handed, that is, until later that evening.
With his past racing to catch up to him things and quickly spiraling out of his control, he might find that less than useful helper has a use after all.

Lucifer is yet again confused about what exactly Vox wants from all this as he sighs. “Yeah you mentioned that but the thing is..I really don’t care.”
The man in front of him is a perfect mixture of baffled and furious at his blasé attitude. “Well you should!”
“Mmmm, says who?” Lucifer asks with a confused tilt of his head.
“Wha- says me!” Vox shouts, grip on his composure slipping. “You should care because I said so!”
“My, quite the compelling argument.” Alastor interjects snidely.
“Alastor, shut the fuck up.” Vox scowls at the radio demon.
OR:
Lucifer ragebaits too close to the sun and causes Vox to put him on the guest list for his Heaven take over party to prove to him he's not a failure.

Eventually, his own latent, damning curiosity begins to fester under the weight of several observations about the devil, including that he is kind and that he is clever even although he is not, in Alastor’s estimation, particularly intelligent.
That never, not even once, does Lucifer touch him.
And that is intolerable.
