In turn, these friendships would have given him the confidence to actually live in Lenora, not just exist there.
In this fic, Will makes a friend in California, and learns how to be 'Will', instead of 'Will Byers, the kid that disappeared that one time'.
Purely indulgent for me, but I really do think Will is worth so much more than what is shown, so this follows the life that he could have had.
