Summary
Harry Potter is twice-orphaned by the time he's nine years old. When his Aunt Petunia and Uncle Vernon die in a car crash before his ninth birthday, he's sent with his cousin Dudley to live with Aunt Marge. Unfortunately, Aunt Marge drops him off at what she thinks is an orphanage, leaving Harry in the care of children's services.
A year later, Remus Lupin comes looking for his best friend's son, to check on his welfare. When he finds Harry missing, he asks for his father's help in getting Harry to safety and family.
Chapters will alternate between Harry POV and Remus POV, unless otherwise stated. Canon-compliant relationships.
Part 1: Covers 1990-1994, including the year before Harry's first year at Hogwarts through the end of canon's Prisoner of Azkaban. "The Wizard, the Wolf, and the Son." - COMPLETE.
Part 2: Covers 1994-1996, until the end of canon OoTP. "A Changing Pack," available as of 15 June 2022.
Part 3: Covers 1996-1998 + more. Posting schedule - tentatively to be posted in October 2022, about a month after part 2 is complete.

Ed was stuck at this table with this toad and he was empathetically not pleased. The pink thing was simpering at him, making pointed comments about his intelligence and breeding. Ed would have strangled the bitch if he hadn’t already given his bodily control over to Truth as soon as he’d sat down.
(Truth had a thing about getting to pick what food they wanted at lunch, something about getting the full experience, and Ed was, for once, glad he’d obliged because Truth’s neutral continence was the only thing keeping his limbs steady.)
“Of course,” she said sweetly, “If I was the teenage professor of a useless branch of washed-out magic, I suppose my qualifications wouldn’t have to be very high either, would they?”
And their fork snapped in half.
“What,” Truth breathed with Ed’s mouth, no accent at all, “did you just call my subject?”
