“But then, I did hear about what happened,” Nagi continues. “They made such a big commotion about it, you know? The people that handle the radio. Must have been sensationalists before with the way they’re going about it.”
Nagi watches the water cool, steam wafting gently from the cracked bowl to the moldy ceiling. Condensation covers the flickering light-bulb. “It’s all in the headlines!” He says, picking up a discarded newspaper and flipping it around to show his guests. “From the proverbial cracks to the literal collapse. A well-timed earthquake splitting a new age empire in half. Almost sounds like divine punishment, don’t you think?”
He smiles, tense. “A good description for the papers, not so good for everything else.”
Osakan refugees Takahara Nagi (Formerly known as Komaeda Nagito) and Mona (Formerly known as Towa Monaca) try to settle in the last mainland haven of Post-Despair Japan. However, running from your pasts come with alarming consequences, and buried hatchets will always be dug up by someone with a grudge.

Summary
The world in despair is an absurd tragedy until reality sets in. Madness tends to consume people whole, but it leaves pretty much the same scars as all human tragedies, like say...war?
A reimagining of how the alumni of Hope's Peak (and other influential people) try to rebuild their—well, not the world, but the small archipelago that they've once called nation, now divided into broken parts and sovereign states, armed with scars too deep to cover with the sins of the past.
In the meantime, Komaeda Nagito lives by the fitful whims of his dangerous luck, waiting to die until the day he meets Towa Monaca, planning to shoot herself into space for the very same goal. Maybe, in some sense, form or fashion, they might learn to get along.

Summary
Chronologically arranged stories centered around the survivors of Hope's Peak Classes 77 and 78 taking place after the initial Tragedy and subsequent Neo World Program. All works are, with a couple of exceptions, written to act as standalone pieces so that the reader can easily pick and choose what piques their interest.
Branch 14 of Future Foundation has thrived under the leadership of Executive Director Makoto Naegi. He is followed directly by his right-hand man, Vice Director Byakuya Togami. Other notable staff members include Hajime Komaeda-Hinata (Chief Information Officer), Aoi Asahina (Chief Human Resources Officer), Yasuhiro Hagakure (Facilities Manager), Kyoko Kirigiri (Chief Investigative Liaison), and Shuichi Saihara (Intern - Investigations Department).
Outside of Future Foundation, the other killing game survivors have eked out a living as best as they are able to. Some have their own businesses, some scramble for a foothold of employment, and some live under the support of their loved ones.
Being a late twenties going on early thirties adult is terrifying enough on its own, let alone when you're shouldering unimaginable trauma coupled with a scarred up city just barely beginning to heal.

Doflamingo’s mouth went dry. Rosi straightened, hands behind his back, as if he were about to start rocking on his heels. He looked exactly the same as when Doflamingo had last seen him. Sweat and dirt-stained, clothes worn, that thumbprint of their father’s blood at the corner of his chin from where Doflamingo had touched him.
Rationally, it couldn't have been real. He still surveyed the islands across the North Blue and kept a tap on the local news, but had long stopped expecting anything. It had been seven years after all. At this point, Rosi was either dead or didn’t want to be found.
“No,” Doflamingo growled, “No, no, you don’t get to do this to me.”
