Summary
It was beautiful. The most perfect place Alastor could possibly imagine, and he doubted there was anything on Earth that could ever meet its splendour. He didn’t need to be told where he was, though he might venture to ask how he’d gotten here; but that question could wait, for he was too lost in admiring his surroundings.
The sky was a perfect cerulean blue, with pink tinging the horizon and strands of gold seemingly brushing over what few clouds marred its stunning expanse. Pleasantly white, puffy things, all of them sitting low enough that their undersides reflected the pink glow of the setting sun, and Alastor was only sorry he seemingly hadn’t arrived in time to see the sun itself.
It had been too long.

Summary
Alastor did not look good. His hair was plastered to his face, wet with sweat, and from what little was visible under the loose collar of his nightshirt, his skin seemed to cling to bones rather than flesh. One night of relatively good sleep had not done much to the dark circles around his eyes, and there were still traces of tears clinging to his hollow cheeks.
Lucifer gently put a hand on Alastor’s brow, trying to feel how bad the fever was-
A clawed hand shot out and locked around his wrist, squeezing it with the intention to break bones, but none of the strength to carry out the threat. Alastor stared up at him, eyes wide with fear ... and then he recognized him, and slumped back onto the pillows.
“... so̴͐rr̴͊y.”
“It’s fine,” Lucifer replied. “You didn’t hurt me.”
Alastor didn’t look relieved about that. “... ć̷̽a̵͌̎n’t e̴̽ven br̴eak bo̴nes anymore,” he mumbled. “Pathetic.”
The wound is closed, and the bleeding has stopped, but that was just one step forward. Healing takes time.

Summary
His lawyer had listened to his long list of mitigating circumstances (whining) and the full context of his actions (excuses) but had dismissed all of it in favour of arguing the merits of restorative measures and how promising a candidate Bradley made “for a therapeutic and community oriented approach to meaningfully demonstrate his remorse and changed behaviour”. It was nothing short of humiliating and came only second to the absolute tongue lashing his father had given him.
