“I couldn’t agree more. Dear Basil’s, became much more interesting, hasn’t he?” Henry smiled.

Summary
Basil woke up at the hospital to find Sunny confessing the truth to his friends. He hoped that it was over, that they could finally be happy again, but Sunny dropped off the face of the Earth. Now, it was up to Basil to handle the fallout and future.
Forgiveness would come slower from some than others, and the road ahead was long, but it was there—and Basil wouldn't be alone this time.
(A post-canon Basil-centric sunflower fic focused on a realistic depiction of the healing process, exploring the relationships within the friend group (mainly Basil's relationships), and ending my brainrot. I cannot exaggerate how terrible the first few chapters are compared to the later ones; please give this a chance lol.)

There's blood on your hands but it's nothing more than a lie. Blood is running in your veins and vessels, it's painting you in a crimson color of uniqueness that no one else is capable of recreating flawlessly. And even if this slimy liquid somehow spreads on the back of your hands, all it takes is just shutting your eyes for it to get absorbed into you completely. For it to become a new part of yourself. For it to become a new part that has to be accepted, through the gritted teeth and nails that are digged in the flesh that is still raw and injured, but accepted, as it's the only existing way to healing.
But the blood on my hands is not mine and I don't want to be healed
or Basil is having a panic attack and everything he has is his distant memories of the past

OJ turned his head, spouting, "You won't get away with this, you...you villains!"
"My, my. After so much work just to come up with something, that's the best you can come up with?" Miss Classic snickered. "Omori, why don't you shut them up already?"
Omori pulled out the duct tape, his expression completely calm.
"Um...g-guys?" Basil spoke up nervously. "Can you please take this somewhere else?"
Behind him, Aubrey nodded, looking slightly annoyed. She just wanted pink hair, for Pete's sake.

The sun was setting slowly, not even reaching the trees as Basil skips down the sidewalk. Childishly, he makes sure to not step on the places where the slabs of concrete meet. The sun casts a gentle weather down on Basil and his surrounding area as he bounces up the steps to Sunny’s door.
Giving it three loud knocks, he readies his camera, hoping to snap a photo of a surprised Sunny and Mari before they perform their piece this evening. There’s no answer, and Basil wonders if maybe they’re still getting ready. That would be the most reasonable explanation…wouldn’t it?
He knocks again, hoping that maybe their mom would be there to open the door if nothing else.
Several more minutes tick by, until Basil hears a loud thumping noise
