Noticing how Pomni has become very withdrawn from her new friends and his adventures, Caine brings back the suggestion box, but with all new suggestions from the new cast of characters. Some of these suggestions, however, are actually pulled from the old suggestion box, reflecting the old cast in a way Pomni quickly realizes she isn’t ready to handle. Some of these mini-adventures even still have the very same AI as those old adventures.

An exceedingly normal house in an exceedingly normal town with the exceedingly normal understanding that she and Jax are now the neighbourhood’s blushing newlyweds.
Neither of which knows exactly what to do with that, especially after the fight that revealed parts of themselves they’d both rather keep out of sight. It’s awkward at best, and it only spirals from there.

Beautiful from start to finish. A wonderfully engaging plot, diverging from Cradle canon in ways that fit while respecting the characters and stories from both sources. And it's complete! It easily makes my top 10 Wormfics, and I've read a lot of Wormfics. Definitely worth a read.

"Wow! Well uh, that was really, really depressing!" He says with a smile (Not that he really says anything without it), "I can't really imagine being that depressed to come home!"
"I think it's less about coming home," you say, "And more about coming back to a home you don't recognize. Not because it changed, but because you had."
He still smiles but there's a slight falter to his grin.
You stammer: "Or— or that's what how I read it, at least! Maybe it's more about finding the outside world more interesting than home...?"
He puts a hand on your shoulder. "I don't think I'd ever find you boring; no matter how I changed, or how interesting it is outside!"
He stammers and his eyes dart away, suddenly self-conscious. "Or— anyone... Or anything else in the manor!"
You feel relieved, somehow. Like an invisible weight has been lifted off of you. You smile. "Me either."

“Jax? Did he..? Did he threaten you?” Ragatha felt her heart drop, despite her talk with kinger she still couldn't help but blame herself for leaving Pomni with Jax, her hand wrapped the wooden arm of her rocking chair.
“What.? No! No no.. I'm worried for him, I mean..” she shuffled on ragatha's bed, “ I've never met someone before they abstracted but…” she could only make herself make eye contact for a second at a time before looking back at her hands, or the bed or anything else.

It’s pointless to dwell on what happened— Jax pushing away, hurtful words exchanged, the fight; he’s a white puzzle and she’s stuck between giving up or completing the whole thing without any help, while the pieces would run and hide from her right before she was about to finish a section.
It’s a good thing she always liked challenges.
And for better or worse, he’s stuck here as much as she is— stuck with her. If he wants to be an a[*€$@#]e, then let him be. Let him push her away again and again. It’ll take much more than that to break her resolve.

While taking a newly-repaired disassembly drone ship out for a spin, Uzi and N discover that reports of humanity's extinction were greatly exaggerated, the universe is a lot bigger than they first thought, and somehow alien eldritch horrors are still not as bad as capitalism.
Meanwhile, after exploring the grisly remains of a destroyed corporate station, Murderbot finds its body going through some deeply unsettling changes. There's no reason to make a connection between this weird, horrifying metamorphosis and the news of a couple of bots wreaking havoc across the Corporation Rim, until there are far too many reasons to ignore.
