When he gets close to Eddie Munson, an unlikely bond begins. Eddie is full of life and words, and Steve worries he won't be interesting enough to keep him around.
Little does Steve know, Eddie is perfectly fine with sitting in silence with him.

Summary
It's the summer of '84 when Steve Harrington moves to Forest Hills. A series of disturbing occurrences around the trailer park hint at a possible connection to the horrors of the Upside Down, so Steve reluctantly investigates.
He's pretty sure keeping Hawkins safe from interdimensional monsters would be a lot easier if he didn't also have to deal with a new babysitting job, horrifying nightmares, certain overbearing Demogorgon-hunting companions, and his new neighbor Eddie Munson (who Steve feels unexpectedly drawn to, and who for some reason has made up his mind that Steve needs looking after).

Nancy inhaled slowly as she took a meaningful step towards him. Steve's eyes flickered back over to her instinctively, and he got a firsthand view of how her face had crumpled, eyes wide and shining and worried. "Steve," Nancy said, slow, gentle, quiet, like she was trying to calm a cornered wild animal. "None of us said those things."
Steve's mouth opened, words piling on the tip of his tongue: what, so I was just hallucinating, then? he wanted to ask, nearly did ask, and then he realized—heart stopping in his chest and the floor very suddenly feeling like it had been ripped out beneath him—that was exactly what was happening.
Steve's jaw shut with a click.
"Oh," Steve breathed shakily. Oh, fuck.

Summary
Getting lost in the woods while trying larping for the first time was definitely not something Eddie had planned. And then somehow ending up in none other than King Steve's backyard? No way! And then adding almost drowning to his list of problems? He should’ve just stuck to the table. Not to mention Steve apparently wanted to take care of him? At first Eddie just thought Steve was afraid Eddie was gonna sue him for almost drowning in his pool, like he wasn’t trespassing in the first place, but Steve actually looked offended by the idea.

Summary

Summary
After an altercation with his dad, Steve hides away in the pantry in his kitchen and calls for help on the walkie-talkie. Luckily, Eddie is awake and comes to the rescue, stealing Steve away to stay at the Munsons’ until it’s safe for Steve to go back. Steve hates when either of his parents come home to visit, especially when it’s his dad. It feels ridiculous to say but Steve thinks he’d rather face another Demogorgon.
A Demogorgon will smell blood in the water and kill on sight, but Mr. Harrington has a habit of dragging it out and making sure his prey knows they’re bleeding. The monsters under the bed are nothing compared to the monsters down the hall, Steve’s an expert. He’s known for a long time now how messed up it all is, he knows he needs out, needs help, but it feels impossibly hard. It’s normal for him and he’s dealt with it this long, he just needs to tough it out until he can afford his own place.
It doesn’t occur to Steve that he has a plethora of people willing to fight monsters at his side, whether the monsters are from the Upside Down or his own home. With the help of his monster hunting crew, Steve escapes his parents and learns what love is really supposed to be.

Steve frowns back. “Yeah, I meant for you to be, like, on the other side of it,” he explains. When Eddie just looks confused, he adds, “Why are you here?”
Eddie cocks his head, almost hitting the toilet in the process.
“Well, I found you sitting here in the dark on the bathroom floor, Harrington,” Eddie explains patiently. “I was, you know, mildly concerned but I can leave if you want me to.”
It’s like that “oh my god they were roommates” vine except with mental illness and the excruciating catharsis of being known.

After everything blows over, Eddie expects to be left alone again. Instead he adopts a cat, a few brats, and suddenly finds a friend in Steve Harrington of all people. Steve, who cuddles with his cat and brings him trinkets and gifts he finds, like said cat with dead mice. Steve, who tries to watch movies he doesn't get for Eddie's sake and passes out everywhere in his house once again like a cat. Steve, who Eddie definitely doesn't want to rail within an inch of his life.
Meanwhile, Steve is so relieved that he's getting a few hours of nightmare free rest for once, that he doesn't notice he's neck deep in a sexuality crisis and that it's all Eddie Munson's fault. Thank god Steve has people like Robin to pull his head out of his ass.
tldr I wanted to write an Eddie Munson gets a cat fic and an Eddie Munson becomes Steve Harrington's insomnia cure fic and a Steve Harrington is touch starved and seeks out Eddie's touch because he isn't gay so it's just platonic right? right? fic and this is the combined result.

Summary
Steve Harrington nursed Eddie back to health, kept him warm and well-fed, and quite literally led a quest into Hell to give him his real body back. Which is great. It’s fucking fantastic. Definitely did not make Eddie fall a little bit head-over-heels in love with the guy.
At least, that’s what he kept telling himself at first, because Steve is just a really good guy with a tendency to act like an overbearing mother and it absolutely, undoubtedly, one-thousand-percent did not mean anything.
But then the dust settled, and Steve had still looked Eddie in the eye and asked him to stay.
And then—!
Then Steve had kissed him.
Eddie desperately wants to know what it all means.
Eddie Munson is alive and human again, and it's time to deal with the consequences. Unfortunately, that means figuring out how to defeat Vecna for good, discovering that he hasn't quite managed to get rid of the bat in him, and dealing with whatever the fuck it is that he's feeling for Steve Harrington. None of it is going to be easy.
