Summary
Alastor had been painted in blood many times in his life. Mostly other people's – less enjoyably, his own – but never had it been so artfully done as this.
Truthfully, he almost abandoned his plan entirely, admiring the way the red shone against his fawn skin – he did look good in red, after all. He added another mark to his upper left shoulder, his head twisting the full one eighty degrees so he could see himself in the mirror.
He looked downright terrifying – exactly the sort of devil worshipper mothers warned their children about, clad only in a pair of black undershorts and painted from neck to hoof with patterns and symbols he didn't fully understand – but which he copied out with a painstaking level of attention to detail from the book Lucifer had reluctantly handed over at his request.
He thought back on how surprised Lucifer had been at his suggestion.

If God didn't make mistakes, then that implied that he'd meant for Lucifer to feel this way – to be going about his life, everything actually fairly positive for once, when, out of nowhere – a crushing, bleak, consuming hopelessness would sink into him. Invading him so thoroughly that it took every scrap of mental fortitude he possessed just to get out of bed. Bathe. Eat something.
Sometimes, when things were bad, he only managed two out of three.
Sometimes one.
And sometimes not even that.
So, if God did make mistakes – did that make Lucifer his biggest failure?

Summary
There were a lot of things that Lucifer had asked of him that Alastor didn't really have a particularly personal understanding of – and he was rarely, if ever, reluctant to go along with any of it. New experiences were something of a commodity, after nine decades in Hell, and the fact the king had somehow managed to show him so many was fascinating in and of itself.
This, however – this might have been the strangest request yet.
“You want me to do what with my shadow tendrils?” Alastor asked, drawing back from the other man with a furrow lining his brow, his smile twisted and confused.

Summary
Alastor looked around at the actual, genuine darkness, pure night around them, not just the shadows he used or the lack of any light that a fully sealed room brought. The kind of darkness that, after a moment, one realised wasn't actually darkness at all, the pale light from the stars and moon above casting everything in faint, washed out colours.
The moon.
Oh – he'd not seen it in ninety years, or thereabouts – he'd never noticed how bright it was when he was alive.

Summary
It was beautiful. The most perfect place Alastor could possibly imagine, and he doubted there was anything on Earth that could ever meet its splendour. He didn’t need to be told where he was, though he might venture to ask how he’d gotten here; but that question could wait, for he was too lost in admiring his surroundings.
The sky was a perfect cerulean blue, with pink tinging the horizon and strands of gold seemingly brushing over what few clouds marred its stunning expanse. Pleasantly white, puffy things, all of them sitting low enough that their undersides reflected the pink glow of the setting sun, and Alastor was only sorry he seemingly hadn’t arrived in time to see the sun itself.
It had been too long.

Summary
“Does Angel Dust tend to nest in his suite?” Alastor asked without preamble.
“Why’re you askin’ me?” Husk asked gruffly, briefly trying to feign ignorance. A single raised brow from Alastor was all it took to squash that recalcitrance out of him, his shoulders and wings dropping. “Yeah, yeah – fine. But why’re you askin’ me now? It ain’t like Angel’s gonna steal his own shit and pretend like it weren’t him. Besides, he ain’t anywhere close to bein’ in heat. It’s not him, boss.”

Items have been going missing around the hotel. Nothing of any value or consequence - just people's personal effects. Regardless of their importance, Alastor cannot simply stand by and let somebody rob folks in his territory, right under his nose.
He sets out to catch the thief - and picks up a less than useful helper along the way in the form of one miniature monarch - but comes up empty handed. Empty handed, that is, until later that evening.
With his past racing to catch up to him things and quickly spiraling out of his control, he might find that less than useful helper has a use after all.

Summary
Lucifer wasn't a sadistic person. Not really.
Okay, sure, he didn't see any kind of issue in letting Alastor go nuts on the latest coterie of assholes to attack the hotel, and maybe he even enjoyed watching how much fun Alastor was clearly having. Cackling and bellowing, picking sinners up like skittles and dropping them down his gullet – there was something nice about it. Maybe it was just that he liked seeing Alastor being so unabashedly himself.
His violent, psychopathic – sadistic – self.

Summary
It felt like a bad dream, watching the King of Hell flapping his wings outside the huge window Vox had planted Alastor in front of, right before leaving to 'take care of more important matters'. A cosmic joke – that he would show up now, a look of almost absent curiosity on his face as his gaze roamed over the flashing LED's and the reflections of Pentagram City below.
A bad dream – or a nightmare, for Alastor's throat roiled with bitter bile when those eyes finally managed to pick him out amongst the other distractions. Lucifer's face lit up in a smug grin, the king drifting closer – close enough to tap on the glass like Alastor was some creature in a zoo.
His lip curled. He shouldn't have reminded himself of the phrasing.

Summary
A smarter man might have thought something was suspicious when Charlie had said 'I'll send you my location!'
Lucifer, however, had proven time and time again that intelligent design never extended so far as to reach him. He could add his oversight about this to his long list of fuck ups, and it was realising that Charlie wasn't really calling him, hadn't actually forgiven him for ruining her dream – probably her whole life, if he wanted to be brutally honest – that had him going still when he felt power cables wrapping around his chest and pinning his arms to his sides the moment he'd stepped through his portal.
He'd been so excited. For the span of about five minutes, he'd thought he might have a chance to fix things – again. That he could grovel and apologise and explain himself, because he really had been trying to help – hadn't he?

Truly, the devil must have a silver tongue of persuasion – how else could one explain how he'd managed to convince the Radio Demon; feared Overlord, serial killer and cannibal – to allow himself to be tied nude to their bed, spread to the world (not quite, but spread to Lucifer's rooms), like a chicken ready to be stuffed?
He felt utterly ridiculous.
And humiliatingly aroused.

The first time Alastor had let Lucifer tie him up, Lucifer had tried very hard to keep his excitement to himself. To play it cool – fall into the role of 'man in charge' as though his glee wasn't threatening to spill from him, bubbling beneath the surface of his skin like boiling water rattling the lid of a pot.
That had been made infinitely more difficult when Alastor – and subsequently, Lucifer – had realised that Alastor liked being tied up.
Possibly so much that it had surprised him, cheeks flushing that gorgeous red stain when he'd yanked at the bonds around his wrists and found he couldn't work them loose. Big doe eyes turned on Lucifer with a silent plea in them, and though Lucifer didn't know what he was asking for, he was more than happy to offer soothing words of encouragement, of praise – or of utter filth.
Since then, they'd experimented with a few different things.

Summary
Alastor would never say he admired Lucifer's problem solving skills – he often found the king's solution to a problem quite bewildering, in fact, the man taking such a roundabout way to an answer that one almost forgot what he had set out to do in the first place.
But if he couldn't say he admired them, then at least he could say he was fascinated by them.
Circling back to that unique brand of problem solving – Alastor wasn't quite certain why 'helping him de-stress' involved him having his wrists tied together and strung up to Lucifer's bedhead, but he was interested in seeing how it played out.

The residents of the hotel have noticed something… off about Alastor’s shadow. No one knew if it was acting on the radio demons order or independently, but it seemed to be targeting the King of Hell ever since he moved into the Hazbin Hotel.
Lucifer also seems to be acting strange as he begins to sneak around, and why is Alastor suddenly plagued with strange symptoms. Shadow shenanigans ensue!
