Dream’s mask seems to be looking off into the distance, head raised with one hand held into the air, and the other grasped onto his sword, too little, too late. Technoblade stares at him with narrowed eyes, lip curled in a scowl, his tusks only adding to the image of danger. They are at a standstill, kept like statues, Wilbur only being able to lift his head up and witness.
“If you kick my son again,” Technoblade tells Dream, voice low. “I'm going to cut your head off.”
There’s no hint of a false word in his threat. Wilbur finds the protection over him comforting for a moment, his worries relieved, his fear settling. Then he catches onto the wording, and he remembers very well that son is not the word for Techno to have.
“…your what ."

Summary
The office was practically silent, the sound of writing and shuffling paper occasionally filling the space. The floor was hard wood, probably spruce, but the desk and chair sat on a plush carpet that felt expensive to the touch.
Currently, he was huddled under the oak desk, back pressed against the panelling that shielded the bottom from view. The position was harsh on his tail and his ears had to press against his head to fit but this was the best he’d be getting.
Hunched up against the dark corner of the desk felt safer than being out in the open where the bastard in front of him wanted him to be, anyways.
After escape attempt number eight, the emperor refused to let him more than a few steps away at any point in time. He even regularly checked under the desk to make sure that he was still there, probably half expecting him to have tunnelled out in the minutes he was left ‘unattended’.
He couldn't. The wood was too thick and it would be far too loud.

There was a leviathan that lived in the deep.
Wilbur knew there was.
He had big gnashing teeth and claws sharp enough to slice through bone. He was terrifying, he was huge and he was real.
The rest of his pod tried to tell him that he was fake, that the Angel of Death was just a story to keep guppies in line but he knew they were wrong. He saw the ice blue eyes staring at him from the deep. He saw the massive hands drop off shiny little treasures right by the ledge of the gorge they lived by.
He knew that the monster of the deep was trying to lure him closer so that he could snatch him up and drag him down with just a few beats of his massive tail.
