Summary

When Warlock's future is threatened and he runs away, Crowley must allow himself to be trapped with the beast in the castle to save him. The beast is not what he would have expected, though: Anxious, kind, and shy, not to mention extremely sexy. Can Crowley escape? Will he want to? Can he keep his heart intact if he does?

After the Apocanot, it becomes Crowley's home as well. When Aziraphale succumbs to his time of the millennium, it becomes a sanctuary while he is vulnerable and flightless. And also, it turns out, as the nexus of the little group of humans and one (1) demon who love him more than he ever thought was possible.

Summary

By predicting what he's most likely to gain however, he can direct his desire towards them and not waste time striving for impossibilities. The system's worked for a decade, and he hasn't wanted anything badly enough to break it - until, that is, he's presented with a photograph of Gregory Lestrade and Greed crashes through his carefully erected barriers. To protect Greg from the beast, Mycroft must turn him into the most unattainable man in the country... by saving the man's crumbling marriage.
Greg's satisfied with his lot. He works long hours, sure, but it's a worthwhile job. His wife's cheating on him, yeah, but honestly if he had a chance with Mr Perfect McRockHardAbs, he'd probably cheat too. And he likes the bed cold, anyway. He's never been the sort to step on other people's feet or push for something as silly as his own happiness. Besides, he's never wanted anything strongly enough to push - until, that is, he meets the infuriating Mycroft Holmes, who seems intent on doing nothing but brush him away.

This is a very slowly-paced teacher/student romance that stretches over multiple years, until Hermione isn't a student anymore. It's my most honest try at a story without dark backgrounds, trauma or abuse of any kind. Just two very human people who take a long time to find to one another. Lots of university politics and drama and familiar characters. Also, smut. But you’ll have to be patient to get there…
