The walk through the hallway behind Alice feels like a walk to the firing squad lineup. God, what are you getting yourself into? Why aren’t you listening to the people who know you so much better than you do? But your feet keep moving and in a minute you are in the lobby, and standing in front of you is the woman who ruined your life.

Peter landed on the man’s shoulders to make the man fall onto the roof next to his poor, soaked pizza slice. Peter webbed him up more just in case.
“I would be sorry, if it hadn’t been for the loss of my poor pizza.” Peter sniffed. “A moment of silence for our fallen hero.” He said as he stood on top of Iron Man’s back, a fist to his chest in respect. “Gone but never forgotten. Always in our hearts. May you rest in peace, sweet, sweet pizza slice.”

Wright knocks a fist against the doorframe, somewhat absent-mindedly. “I want lunch,” he says, finally. “The bus takes forever, give me a lift back into the city, will you?”
In which Klavier and Phoenix are smart enough to finally have that conversation about the past, and dumb enough to do it in two parking lots and a burger barn drive-thru. There's no accounting for taste.

Phoenix isn't sure if it’s a symptom of just waking up, but Edgeworth's features have none of the usual tenseness to them. He's all soft edges and relaxed shoulders as he indulges in a plate of strawberry pancakes and a cup of joe.
They eat in comfortable silence. Maya has politely refrained from asking why Edgeworth is joining them for breakfast, and every time Pearls starts to, Maya manages to change the subject.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, it turns out to be impossible for a disgraced and single ex-attorney to get approved to adopt a child he only met two weeks ago. He's not sure why he thought that would work.
A couple might have a chance, though. Especially if half of the couple is a prosecutor with good standing and deep pockets. Isn't that what friendship is all about? Getting (platonically) legally married, moving in together, co-adopting an eight-year-old, and keeping it all a secret?
