Summary
Francis Adams removes the prototype headset from his face and drops it on the floor. His wife—Victoria, he remembers suddenly, Victoria Clemens Adams—standing beside him slips it over her face at the same time. He stares helplessly as she stills, for only a split second, then rips the headset off and tosses it like she's been burnt. She falls to her knees. Francis crouches beside her.
It is April 16, 2007. He accepts very quickly that he will be unable to change the future. He tries anyway, and fails predictably.

It should have been her instead. She'd already run off and left him behind, what's a little disappearing act on top of that? He came back, is the thing. He died and came back. She walked away of her own volition and didn't.

He's... trying to be better. For his own sake, really, not anyone else's. He just doesn't want to get arrested for assault. He really, really has no reason to still be talking to these people. It's probably best if he doesn't. He's really bad at doing what's best.
Obviously. He's living in an abandoned building off $15 a week when he has a perfectly fine mother who is perfectly willing to house him.But, honestly, that's not bad. He could be doing so much worse. One might consider this rock bottom, but beneath rock bottom is a whole lot of lava, and he's not there.

Post-canon / canon divergence au for TADC.
(Canon compliant up to episode 6, because that's when I started writing this au. Diverges from canon in place of episode 7. Minor lore retcons as canon info is revealed, but no major overhauls.)Chatfic with bonus oneshots! The cast escapes the Circus and find themselves in the long-abandoned office building of C&A, a now defunct game development company, in May 2025. The most glaring problem? None of them entered the circus in May 2025—in fact, some have been missing long enough to be declared dead.
Picking up the pieces left is a task much easier said than done.

Summary
Today, the ▬▬▬▬▬ Police Department has disclosed the identities of the recently found persons who escaped from the previously-thought abandoned C&A software department. Dubbed the “C&A Escapees” by social media, the five people have captured the interest of the world due to the strange circumstances of their location. All five people had previously been reported missing, anytime ranging from several months to nearly a decade ago, with at least one previously presumed deceased. Only two of the escapees had formerly been connected to the C&A software department, which had been abandoned since its failure to resell in 2008. This building itself became a local urban legend due to the occasional disappearance around the location and strange reports of electrical functioning despite its power being cut. However, these rumors are miniscule in comparison to the recent reality of the five C&A Escapees leaving the building, all the same age they were when they had vanished, as if no time at all had passed.
A collection of files on the re-appearance of five members of the Digital Circus... but where did the sixth go...?

It's been two months since they escaped the circus, one month since reuniting with one another, and two weeks since Christine (formerly Pomni) took it upon herself to start exploring the old C&A offices and destroying their computers to prevent anyone else from getting trapped in the digital hell she temporarily called home. Things, however, take a wildly unexpected turn when she and Felix stumble across a computer in one of these abandoned offices and it spits out... Caine in a form nobody expects: a human boy.
An AU based on two combined AUs of mine: a human au I drew where Caine is a 13 year old boy raised by Kinger, and an AU where being sucked into the circus left the characters with subtly unsettling traits that make your average joe a little nervous around them.
