There’s a sharp throb of instinct, telling him there’s something terribly wrong, just before a sudden wave of drowsiness washes over him and sweeps it away. He nuzzles into the cushion beneath him and lets his eyelids droop closed, plunging him into the depths of unconsciousness.

The metallic smell of iron burned in her nostrils. “We’re in this together now. If I go down, I’m taking you with me.”
She straightens herself to look at him. Ji-won might have allowed Min-hwan to push her around however he liked, but Su-min wasn’t her. Ji-won was dead and gone. She was still alive.
“I’m not afraid of you, Park Min-hwan.”
His lips curl into a cruel smirk. His voice is like poison; warm, inviting and pervasive. He was the poison. “If you help me properly, you won’t have to be.”
