“See, sir?” A child (and those were not allowed this close to the arena) weaseled his way in between Grian’s arm and his torso. “Told you I was with my dad.”
Grian simply stared at the child, the Mod the kid was evidently running from looking between them dubiously.
The kid elbowed him. Hard.
“Had him young.” Grian wheezed as his kidney wept.

The memory opened on his face, still scrawny and a bit afraid from his middle school days, and Kacchan’s nails dug into his hand so hard he thought he drew blood. The setting was different than he expected, though. Instead of the close walls of his classroom in Aldera, it was an airy, open rooftop. Past-Izuku was clutching a notebook to his chest and looking with wide and watery eyes at something behind them and, as a group, they turned to look and see the skeletal form of the former Number One Hero.
“Didn’t you say you have something to ask me?”

“I’m not a fucking kid,” Tommy picked up his pace, “What the fuck do you want?” Tommy didn’t leave any room for error, bluntly demanding the use of any pleasantries that had no use for someone like him.
“Let me buy you a meal, Tommy.” Tommy’s heart skipped for a moment, almost sure it was a trap. The second part of his head was convinced that even the chance at a meal was enough to follow.
“What’s the catch?” He jogged forward, still cautious.
“You let me help you find an alternative to the ring.”
Tommy rolled his eyes. “Good luck, you’re starting from scratch.”
Techno smiled. “I can work with that.”or
Tommy and Techno bond over the one thing they have in common: the streets they live on and the hunger for a better life. It didn't go exactly as planned.

"What kind of music is there?" Techno asked, awfully curious. The thing was, music was important for most aliens. Netherlins used chants during their hunts or rituals; phantomlings sang to find their mates for life or before dying. And elytrians used windchimes in almost every aspect of their lives, from the very day they were born.
"That's a good question," the human bobbed his head, laying the flat circle on the device. "Fuck if I know."
Tommy fiddled with the machine a bit more, and then the circle started spinning. A creaking noise escaped the machine, a faint fuzz of needle on the circle's surface. And then, the first notes of a song started.
Tommy yelped, and the trio sharply turned their heads in his direction. Was something wrong? Was this song too personal for anyone else but the human?
"I fucking love this song, man!"

“Uh— Phil?” The man calls over his shoulder, golden eyes never leaving Tommy’s face, “I need your help over here.”
Tommy bares his teeth, wings fluttering threateningly. He doesn’t want the man to get help, he wants him to go away.
Another man steps into view. This one is short and blonde, with wings a hundred times bigger than Tommy’s, and he’s dressed just as nice as the first man. He hasn’t seen Tommy yet; he’s looking at the big pink one. Mouth open like he’s going to speak.
Tommy hisses again, louder this time. And the man's head snaps towards him— which doesn’t scare Tommy. He doesn’t shrink back, doesn’t try to tuck away his wings with a whine. Because he’s big. He’s big and scary; nothing is scarier than him and he knows it, because he says it.
“Oh,” The man says softly, expression falling at his eyes dart across Tommy’s face. “Oh, mate.”
