Shen Yuan lights up immediately. “Oh – was Binghe thinking of taking Airplane’s place and having a bro night with me? That sounds really fun, actually!” Not that he and Binghe don’t spend most nights together, anyway – they’re practically living together, at this point, what with how shitty Binghe’s own apartment is – but it makes something warm bloom in his chest to think that Binghe wanted to keep him company on such a big night.

“Sure – of course!” Binghe beams. “Perhaps we could even make a day of it? I could show you all those gorgeous decorations I saw on the street! Maybe we could even go ice skating!”

“Oh, uh.” Shen Yuan pauses, surprised. “To be honest, I was just thinking we’d play games or watch movies or whatever…” But when Binghe’s eyelashes flutter a little in disappointment, Shen Yuan shakes his head. “But – sure. If that’s what Binghe wants to do, we can do it.”

It doesn't escape his attention that this lady hasn't answered any of his questions, but she is the first and only succubus that he's met so far and she's not wrong about his hunger… but how on earth can she help him?

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"I think you do. Don't be foolish."

Shen Yuan grimaces slightly, even though she's not exactly wrong.

"Meiyin. I heard about a charming, delicate young male herbalist with a certain allure. I had to see you for myself."

Charming? Delicate?? Alluring??? Him?????

Is the whole 'succubus' thing that overpowered, that even on a beta male like him trying to keep his head down, it stands out that much?

When his stomach growls, though, his decision is made.

Shen Qingqiu doesn’t hear the rest of Luo Binghe’s sentence. Instead, he hears two dissonant shouts of surprise as his body drops like a sack of flour and his consciousness blinks out like a dead light.
