Ugh, the not knowing how to want really struck me. The empty place where truly wanting something is supposed to be, but you ripped it out because that's not your right, your place, your job.
And it hurt too much to leave in.
And the excruciating pain of it coming back. The confusion of how to even use it. Just feeling lost, at this one thing humans are supposed to be good at innately.
I wish I had a Layla, and a Cas. -

“Or the bit where my soul gave you some kind of STD?” Dean finishes.
“It was a poor analogy. I apologize.”
“So what’s a better one?”
Castiel drums his fingers for a second. “It’s more like…the way a parasitic jewel wasp injects a cockroach with venom, and transforms it into a willing host for wasp larvae.”
“Holy shit are you ever bad at this,” Dean says, with that signature brand of fond horror he special-orders just for Castiel, Angel of the Gourd.

Could slide Cas’ coat and suit jacket off all at once, but does them separately instead, draws it out as he sucks at Cas’ bottom lip. “I don’t want the shortcut.”
Cas huffs a little laugh. “You’re going to keep surprising me forever, aren’t you?”

Runs, when the idea was first proposed, were heavily protested, mostly by angry betas and omegas who thought the whole thing was disgraceful, disrespectful, humiliating and degrading. The first Run proved everyone wrong. It was emboldening, powerful, freeing. To pair omegas biologically with an alpha was not only smart, but diplomatic. To give them the opportunity to make the alpha work for what they wanted was a unique twist on the archaic gender roles and stereotypes, and over the next decade, Runs became a popular way for young and healthy people to find the mate best suited for them.
As soon as Dean presented as an omega, he knew it was what he was destined for.

Cas had spent so many of his teenage years in love with his best friend Sam’s big brother that he was half-convinced he’d embellished Dean's attributes in his memory. Too bad for his heart that when Dean came back, he'd only gotten more attractive with age. He was still the best looking omega Cas’d ever known. Even worse was that Dean was attracted to him too because no matter how much Cas wanted him, Dean was only there until he fixed up John's house, then he was headed back to California.
