Viktor's Jayce, whether he chooses to believe it or not, is off at the gala with the Piltover elite. While he would rather be in the lab than attend any one of those stupid galas, that's just it. Something had changed tonight, weaving itself between the music's heavy bass and the dancefloor's colorful lights, tying its knot at the corner of her mouth when she smiled at him, all sharp teeth and unbridled excitement. It swirled around them as they danced, and he followed her along while she swayed and twirled into his space, her warmth all-encompassing, intoxicating. He had felt the walls crumbling, and he had let them, the rubble at his feet feeling like a fair exchange for a moment that should not exist, brief and frail and slipping through his fingers with every second.
It would hurt. Ekko knew it would hurt more than anything, but he wanted to be selfish, if only this once.

She'd made the wrong assumption when she first found Caitlyn at her door step, when she'd first darkened Caitlyn's. Ambessa had assumed the girl would want a surrogate mother, a figure to give her praise and lift her up -- there's fragility behind the strong, beautiful lines of the Kiramman features, after all, and they'd both lost so many someones.
But -- "Good girl," comes out of Ambessa in nearly a growl -- it turned out Caitlyn needed something else instead.

She looks down at fists that she can’t believe are her own, then wheezes, her body feeling unfamiliar, like it belongs to a stranger. Her hand wraps itself around her sister’s neck and her mind begs her to stop, because this is never what she has ever wanted any part of this to come to. She was supposed to protect the woman beneath her, that is what she has always tried to do, and this is not that. Vi feels sick to her stomach– she doesn’t know how everything in her life managed to fall apart so quickly, but she just wants time to freeze for a moment so she can pick up the broken, jagged pieces to find what is left that can be salvaged. She wants to cry, she wants to scream, but she keeps swinging, and she has no idea why or how to put her fists down.

Its white walls crack, groaning and creaking before collapsing, falling to the ground in a cloud of dust and ash.
Its people are dying, and it will never be enough — not for her.
Maybe she was wrong: maybe it's not their fault.
Maybe they didn't even know what tragedy was unfolding in the bowels of Zaun, where no one ever ventured.

He just never expected he'd actually join them.
A girl, so similar to the one he wants, more than he should want, finds him and he can't deny the urge to stay with her and continues to see her until his sixth visit to the brothel, when something unexpected happens and he never goes again. He has no reason to now.
