AUTHOR'S NOTE, 08/10/2025: Hey everyone! This story is not dead! A lot is happening in my life at the moment. I found a wonderful life partner that I want to build a future with, and that involves working my butt off to earn qualifications for a better job. I think about this story every day and desperately want to finish it, but right now I am simply unable to dedicate the same amout of time and effort as I was before. A time will come someday (probably mid 2026) when I will finally have the free time to sit down to write the final two chapters. For now, please be patient! I miss writing this as much as you miss reading it. :)

Here's the Sum-Mari! *giggles in French*
Just a day after moving away from Faraway Town, Sunny, with his mother, have settled in their new apartment in Near City. It wasn't easy for Sunny as he wished to stay in Faraway, mostly because he wanted to be there for his friends, especially after telling the truth to them about what happened to Mari. He got over it, though, because he has contact numbers of his friends anyway, and a new adventure in this city awaits! Or... so he thought.
At the end of the day when Sunny slept, having done everything that he could for the day, he is visited by what he sees as a peculiar man in his dream. Sunny then learns that this man in his dream apparently can rewind time for him, but only once. Sunny then tells the man that he wishes to go back to the day where it all went wrong.
What happens afterwards brought him many different emotions and feelings; safe to say that the young man couldn't comprehend it after seeing a loved one that he had been longing to meet again.
Happiness ensues.

Four months after Sunny's shocking confession at the hospital, Aubrey has yet to deal with the truth behind Mari's death in any way, retreating instead into endless dreams of happier times. But Aubrey is not the shut-in that Sunny was, and life in Faraway Town goes on around her. How will Aubrey's own adventures in Headspace be affected by her parallel adventures as a high school junior?
Alone in the Clouds All Blue is my first work of longer fiction, based on a shorter Aubrey-centric story that I wrote in December 2022. I took inspiration from some of my favorite sci-fi and fantasy authors, psychedelic music, and some of my own teenage experiences growing up in suburbia. I had a blast writing it, and I hope the end result "works" as Omori fanfic once I get all of the chapters out. I'm still developing my fiction writer's voice, so any and all feedback is welcome!
This work is dedicated to The Mouse. Thank you for fanning the flame of this dumb idea until it became a complete novel-length story. I'm glad you're my friend.
