At first he mistook it for fear, or maybe a thrill, but that wasn’t right. This is different. He still isn’t sure what to call it, but he eventually decided that he likes it.

Jesus had two versions of himself: the public, rockstar persona and the private Jesus. The part of him that Jesus tried everything in his power to hide away.
No one saw the empty beer bottles Jesus guzzled down just to sleep at night. No one saw the pain relief patches, or the bandages wrapped around Jesus’s aching muscles. No one saw the mess that Jesus had made of his tent because he didn’t have the energy any longer.
Well, no one except Mary knew that. And Judas made it his business to find out.
Or; being a leader is depressing, but less so if you have a lover and a friend.
