The praise goes to his head, suffusing him with endorphins. “Thank you, Dad.” And he promptly wants to crawl out of his skin and slither down the drain with the after birth slop.

“Finish it,” Armand says abruptly, reaching out to touch the bottom of the glass. He tilts it up to Daniel’s lips, the words an imperious command.
Daniel barely opens his mouth in time. He chokes on what’s left of the watery crème de menthe and crème de cacao, but Armand doesn’t lower the glass until he’s finished every last drop. His head swims, partly because he’s tipsy and partly because of the brain freeze.
Armand withdraws the empty glass, sets it aside, and grabs a napkin off the bar. He dabs Daniel’s lips with it, brushing the bare pad of his thumb across Daniel’s chin. His skin is warm and smooth, slightly clammy with condensation borrowed from the glass.
Oh my God, Daniel thinks. Don’t lick him don’t lick him don’t lick—
Clearing his throat, Armand sets the napkin aside. “You’re a journalist?”
“Yeah,” Daniel replies hastily, looking away. “You were listening in?”
“I caught part of your chat with Louis. You were going to interview him?”
“Was being the operative word. I’m not sure that would’ve worked out.”

It’s probably flattering because, on the whole, his judgment is: attractive. But the entire exercise has an air of anger and incredulity that makes it difficult for Richie to feel too smug about it. Eddie thinks Richie’s ears are cute and he wants to bite them, but he’s fucking pissed about it, apparently.

Summary
Will's been acting— strange, Mike thinks. He's caught Will skulking around the house like he's got lead weights attached to his ankles, watched his eyes blink listlessly without a hint of light in their irises, heard his voice go so raspy Mike wasn't sure he'd been speaking at all. Mike can’t help but worry.
He doesn’t look too good, either; clammy skin, pale, ashen face, hollowed cheeks like he’s hardly eaten in days. Will's acting half-dead already, and the world's not even close to ending yet.
Mike, on the other hand, is being slowly tormented by a strange monster with fangs long enough to spear him through. These two things— Will's strange behavior, and Mike's impending doom— may or may not be related, but Mike's got to figure it out. One way or another.
(Or; Will puts his life on the line to keep his friends safe, and nearly loses it entirely. Mike does all he can to bring Will back— and, in the process, brings them closer together than ever before.)

If any member of their unlikely militia mark Anduin’s passing through the night camp, they say nothing. It’s late and their company has taken shelter somewhere in southern Durotar, pitching tents among the ruins of an old Alliance keep. Only a portion of the outer wall remains, the rest crumbled to dust and rubble.
Anduin thinks it fitting that this part of his inheritance be only remembered as moldering rock. He wishes every day that he might heal the wounds left by long years of war; it’s somewhat heartening that even these scars are fading.
