Knossos was burning. Though from so far away, it really did not seem all that terrible. At least not to the lone wanderer that was taking step after step toward the source of all the chaos. For the people that would survive this day, it would be a terrible memory, burned into the general consciousness of the Minoan people for generations, personal stories of escape and hardship and survival. Yet, for her, it was a situation she had seen many times before and would see many times more in the future. A very average level for destruction for a monster attack really.
The Red Comet, Warrior Queen of Helios was a wandering legend known throughout all of Greece for her great deeds and valorous battles against beasts that threatened the lives of all around them. It was tiring work really and Kiara would much prefer to have a few days off but when duty called, she followed. At least she knew she would not be alone for she had a shadow watching over her, a goddess from the Underworld, always by her side as a steadfast companion, unleashing her divine wrath upon those who dared oppose them.
It also helped that Calliope was as cute as could be and became flushed at the slightest of teasing.

Although writing for this project began before Splatoon 3's release, "EiG:BSF" has been labeled 'canon compliant' to the Splatoon series after extensive research and confirmation. Previously updated on Saturdays.

And she had no idea how she ended up like that.
Every single day she would show up to work on time, never missed a deadline, fixed whatever issues popped up, then headed home and spent the rest of the day scrolling through social media or watching some random show. She took no unnecessary risks, had no passions or hobbies to pursue, stayed hours longer for overtime without complaining. In the eyes of the company, she was a model employee, the example of the perfect modern day salaryman. And she had come to accept that this was all that life had to offer.
That was, until another woman, working for an entirely different company but in the same building rudely interrupted Calliope's regularly scheduled smoking breaks on the roof and dragged her back into the world of office drama, socialising and crushing on your friends hard enough to behave like an idiot around them.
