Jon snaps his jaw shut and then the window. He watches the way Damian’s socked feet pad along the carpeted floor, boots carried in one hand. There are so many things he knows about Damian–which hand he favors, the feel of his blade against Jon’s skin, the way his brow furrows ever so slightly in annoyance when Jon thwarts one of his plans–but he’s learning now that there are so many things he doesn’t know about Damian too. How he takes his shoes off in his apartment, how he organizes his books. He treats each piece of knowledge like a crumb of food and he’s starving and he wonders how many Damian will let him gather in his hands.
In which Justice Lords Jon escapes into another universe following the death of Superman. He finds that in this universe Damian and Jon aren’t just on good terms, they’re partners, in every sense of the word. He wonders what that means for him and his Damian.

“You look beautiful,” Miri breathes out because it’s true. Nobility fits cleanly across Katar’s shoulders now–not like it had all those months ago at the academy ball, each of them fidgeting awkwardly with their gowns, struggling to walk on four-inch heels instead of their worn-out leather boots. What previously had been sheer haughtiness has transformed into regalness, something like a reverent awe that follows Katar where she walks. The time at court has smoothed out Katar’s sharper edges, refined her like polished stone.
“And you look short,” Katar says, looking down at her.

Summary
The two of them “get” an apartment together. Get in quotes because despite Pildu’s best efforts, the housing market has essentially gone to shit and the landlord’s too busy being devoured by stray monsters to charge them rent. They find a two-bedroom with minimal bloodstains and a half functional door with a deadbolt and Sooyoung puts her stuff down in one room and Sangah places her things in the next one over. (She’s in a kid’s room given the crappy decor and the covers with aliens printed on them but Sooyoung tries not to think too hard about it, to shove it to the furthest corner of her mind.)
Sooyoung’s not used to having a roommate. Even before the world went to shit, she lived alone and it feels strange to have someone’s space overlapping with her own, tucked too close like they’re beneath her skin. She’s not used to leaving the bathroom at 3 AM after taking a piss and nearly walking straight into Sangah, clad only in a sports bra and booty shorts. (Okay, she knows Sangah wouldn’t call them booty shorts but the shorts she keeps on underneath her armor are an atrociously scant length! No one should ever be able to see that much bare skin on her thighs–it’s a safety hazard!)
