Her throat works. “Am I not allowed to do that?”
She doesn’t mean to sound defensive, but the words come out like that anyway. Mike blinks, a little surprised and she can’t blame him for it, but the gentleness of his voice doesn’t fade. “Of course you are,” he says with a nod. Never one to deny her anything.
It sends an aching pang through her chest. He’s always on her side, puts her above everyone else—including himself. He has shown it to her time and time again, proved to her repeatedly that nothing is more important to him than she is. And that—that worries her.

He would really rather his sister not know that he and Hinata ditched the guest futon at their sleepovers long ago, especially when he’s about to share a hotel bed with Hinata for the next three nights.

Oh.Following the MSBY vs Adlers match, Tobio decides that marrying his boyfriend of 5 years, Shoyo Hinata, is his final end-game. There is only one problem, Tobio doesn’t even know where to start with planning a proposal brilliant enough for the brightest sun burning in his sky.
So what does Tobio Kageyama (22) Professional Volleyball Player do? Why, he asks his fellow teammates, friends, and alumni for advice and promptly, thoroughly, and literally follows it, ofcourse!
What’s the worst that could happen? According to Murphy's Law, everything. Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong, and as we follow in Tobio’s journey for the hilariously perfectly imperfect proposal, we’ll see as he learns that sometimes it’s the little things that count the most.

Shouyou’s stomach drops and he stares at the screen with his jaw hanging open.
Crap.
He can't believe he forgot. He can’t believe he forgot to propose to Tobio and had to be reminded of it by a news article from some shady entertainment website.
This is low, even for him.

If he was braver, he’d say I have a globe, and a pebble, and a fish tank without any fish in it.
Because he’s a coward, he says, “Long time no see, Hinata.”

Summary
Born and raised in an aquarium, Shouyou – a young merman – has never seen the outside world, let alone the sea.
When new screens around his tank are installed, playing videos of the ocean, he becomes entranced. Eager to see the place where he came from, he begs Kageyama Tobio – the marine biologist responsible for his care – to take him there.
Kageyama agrees, and so begins an ongoing trial to return Shouyou back to the sea. There’s just one problem: as the aquarium’s prized exhibit, he has had every need and whim completely catered to him, and the ocean is not very forgiving to spoilt mermen. Together, they both learn how to find freedom and a new life with each other out on the open sea.
(A merman AU; Shouyou has lived his whole life in a tank. Kageyama is going to be one who lets him taste freedom.)
