Tim Drake never actually wanted to become part of the Robin-Batman-vigilante outfit. No, really. But the last Robin up and died, and now Batman is going crazy, and no one else is doing anything about it, so...Tim decides to become Robin. He might as well, right? At the very least it'll give him something to do while his parents are gone.
Still, Tim's not taking up the mantle until he can put a couple of things in order. Step one? Making sure the Joker can't get it into his head to kill another Robin. Not ever again. (Good thing Tim's not the one with a 'no killing' rule.)
And then after that? Well, after that it's only just a matter of keeping Batman from learning Tim's identity and subsequently chasing him off. Not until Bruce can get back on his feet and pick a new Robin, a real one this time. Easy-peasy.

I can’t stop thinking about this. The premise is amusing, but the fic is just… everything. It’s sweet, it’s hot, it’s got characters you hate to love and love to hate. It’s a reality tv fic that threads the needle between cynically parodying the genre and genuinely showcasing the kindness and friendship that can result from the whole shebang of it. It’s got the standard bachelor setup but pro heroes and quirks exist, and somehow combines the two without sacrificing the dramatic potential of either. Literal gold.

Summary
Scar had gone through a lot in twenty-odd years as a government-funded superhero. He'd fought a whole cornucopia of monsters that emerged from the under-city and dealt with enough turmoil on his conscience to last a lifetime. All that time and all those skills he'd gathered had something teasing at the back of his mind. Pointedly jabbing at him there that something was off, something he wasn't picking up on.
Maybe he'd been crushing on his coworker, a fellow professor at the city university, a little too hard. And perhaps the wayward flirting from the local winged vigilante made his heart quicken unexpectedly.
But seriously, it was impossible. Just because they laughed the same, smiled the same, and had the same mannerisms, that didn't mean anything.
Just because they both made him feel all sorts of complicated, hot, writhing emotions in his chest wasn't enough!
After all, it just couldn't be.
Grian and Cute Guy could not possibly be the same person.{In which Scar trips over his own tongue and impales himself on his curiosity on the way down, Grian is sick, tired, overworked, and caffeine addicted, and the two of them would really benefit from a full eight-hours sleep.}
