He watched as more people, total strangers, arrived, until there were thirteen of them in total.
“Thirteen? That isn't a bad omen at all , probably just a coincidence,” he muttered to himself, adjusting his bandages on his neck.
As darkness fell, the moon turned a crimson red. 'Okay, that's a bit much,' he thought, glancing around nervously. Most of the group, as far as he could tell, didn't truly believe in the supernatural.'Good for them, I guess. Ignorance is bliss, right?' He felt the need to be more cautious, even though he was totally prepared for anything. Probably, he amended silently. "You look like a hunter. Do you hunt?" Cleo asked, their ginger hair a beautiful mess of curls.
Her green eyes showed silent interest in his hunting gear, particularly the crossbow strapped to his back

Summary
585 years. That's how long it had been since the war of Oakhurst waged. 585 years since Scott had lost someone who loved him unconditionally. 585 years since Scott lost someone who reminded him so much of a past lover.
585 years since he had murdered the people who had taken Avid away.
The year was 2025, and Scott was learning to live without attachments again. Something he thought he'd already mastered. That all stopped when during an outing with a dear friend and fledgling of his hear a laugh that makes Scott freeze.

Summary
Once Vox went by a different name. Not Vincent. A different name that brought him shame and tasted bitter on his tongue. Even then, some of his happiest memories are from when he bore that name. But now those memories are tainted by his current reality and rivalry with the Radio Demon.
Unbeknownst to everyone but himself, Vox and Alastor knew each other once while in life. It was a secret he had carried for decades but now as he lay broken in the wake of his defeat he couldn’t help himself to spit the truth back in Alastor’s face. The look of shock on the face of his once husband was the greatest present to Vox as he welcomed the promise of death with open arms.
His only regret? Not being able to see his daughter in Heaven one last time.

The whole almost destroying Hell and Heaven thing left a bad taste in everyone’s mouths. Luckily, Vox received a train ticket for a perfectly relaxing business trip.
He’s dedicated the next few weeks to planning for everything since then, but there’s some odd decisions he’s been making that leads the Vees to think otherwise.
Nevertheless, the horns keep blaring, and the train tracks whistle his name.

Waking up from a 600-year long cursed sleep—and finding his manor and town completely destroyed—inspires a lot of feelings in Scott. Anger. Vengefulness. Annoyance. Hatred. Insatiable hunger for human flesh and blood.
But more than anything, he is reallyyyyyy tired.
Too tired to bother with an elaborate song and dance with the human intruders in Oakhurst.

On days like these, he could just stab, slash, hack at the dummy, diamond piercing easily through the wood, paying no heed to the parts of it that fell off or fell apart, letting everything fade to background sound except for sword on dummy.
That was, everything was meant to fade to background noise, but he hadn’t exactly anticipated someone else speaking.
“You know, if you keep destroying them like that, somebody’s going to start thinking you have a problem.”

Summary
The crypt yawns open in front of him, wide and gaping. A maw into the depths of the earth that threatens to swallow him whole, if he would only let it. Avid stares at it, down the throat to hell, and it stares right back at him, mocking with its gap-toothed smile, leering at him from the ragged hillside.
Only yesterday he'd bounded into that place with a reckless abandon he can no longer summon, lost laughter bubbling in his chest. A high that had buoyed him along and kept him firmly on the top of the world.
He sits at the bottom of the world now, shoes scraping through the gravedirt underfoot as he scuffs his way along, firmly grounded and left to rot as others take to the skies on skin-thin wings.

Taking the idea that Pyro mentioned in stream, Vampires in the 1980s!!
--The small goodbye was over, Pyro giving Shelby a quick smile before carefully slinking out of the bush. No one was nearby, thank goodness, but he kept an edge to their steps along the gravel paths. He watched the blur of Shelby’s white hair disappear around the corner of the tavern quickly as they continued to the door.
One last check around, no observers as they opened the door.
It happened so fast...

Summary
What if Avid didn't call Shelby out to the Obelisk in Episode 5? What if he thought he didn't deserve to be saved? What if he did invite someone to the Obelisk after all?
AKA
Avid is dying, he knows he is, has been for years. Scott's mentions of a cure through vampirism tempted him, but he didn't deserve it. He knows he won't live through the night, and goes out to the Obelisk for peace. But, he doesn't plan to die alone, and he only knows of one person who truly wants him dead.
Owen was left an odd message by Avid to meet him at the obelisk that night. Interested and slightly amused, he turns up expecting a trap. Instead, he is faced with a dying human who reminds him a bit too much of his final moments with Louis.

“Okay, guys! No more being grumpy,” Shelby exclaimed. “It’s beach time!”
The two oldest vampires leveled her with an unimpressed look.
“Shelby, this is a lake.”

Summary
This is a compilation of all the pieces that take place within my Over-City/Under-City AU, which is also a Hot Guy/Cute Guy Superhero AU, though that's not the only thing that'll be going on! I plan to keep this series in chronological order, so I'll put all the pieces where they'd fall along the timeline, which may sometimes not line up with the publishing date. The exception to this is 'Pretty Boy' which, IF someone does want to read the whole series in order, I'd want them to have read that one first and then all the rest, so 'Pretty Boy' will always be the first fic in the line-up, but after that you could read chronologically or just bounce around as you please! I've written all of these to mostly stand-alone, so you shouldn't be too terribly confused no matter where you decide to start up!

It will be useless, obviously, considering her roommate certainly isn’t a vampire. But, now, next to Shelby's red stringed conspiracy board on all the very real supernatural beings in her life, is a much smaller one stating:
MY ROOMMATE IS NOT A VAMPIRE: AN ONGOING INVESTIGATION
They decide to use their slightly worse ball of red string, just to really drive home how unnecessary the whole thing is.

“Oh.” That didn’t seem to be the answer Owen was expecting.
“It’s why I… have blue hair, it’s why I paid someone to turn me and it’s why I loved being a vampire.” He said.
“It cured it for you.” Owen realised.
“The power made me feel alive, I could be me.” He stared at the shadows that no longer welcomed him as one of their own, instead it felt like they were closing in on him, preying on his senses and infecting his body.
“I’m surprised you reverted back.” Owen said honestly. “I didn’t regain the disease on my skin after being cured.”
Scott glanced at him. “You said your skin was irritated.”
“Well yeah, but it’s nothing like what I dealt with before.” He said.]---
