Summary
Ambarussa and their friend, Aracáno, youngest and least looked after of the First and Second House, run away. Their fathers are clearly too engrossed in their miserable arms' race, and they might as well make their displeasure known in the melodramatic ways only young children can.
Fëanáro and Ñolofinwë must, thereby, co-operate to find and coax out the runaways.
Two bitter, stressed men riding alone in endless warm prairies leads to some intense conversations, a tension that is perhaps becoming a little suspect, and some— reassessments.

Summary
Fëanor was given a second chance.
Sent years and years before he even started working on the Silmarils, he tried to fix everything and devised in his mind the most genius of plans.
Step 1: Make sure his kids know he values them more than a stupid jewel (even if that jewel is his magnum opus), so they don't ruin their lives over them.
Step 2: The kids are suspicious and call for Finwë to come to the rescue.
You can't face your father yet, so change of plans.
Step 1 (again): Remember every horrible thing that happened to you and your family and wallow in how big of a failure you are. Everyone is better off without you.
Or:
Fëanor is sent back away from the consequences of his actions, but not his trauma. Now, everyone is panicked, thinking he is fading.
Fëanor is too busy wallowing in self-pity and misery to notice that he is giving everyone a fright.
Or:
Spending years helpless in the Halls of Mandos, watching everything go wrong, affected Fëanor more than he would like to admit.

Centuries after the departure of the Elves, the slumber of the Dwarves and Ents, and the fading of magic, Men rule Middle-earth, their empires built on technology and industry, their civilizations advanced as they developed their own philosophies, laws, and politics. While the truths of the ancient ages have been long forgotten, the Valar, ever-watchful from Aman prepare themselves, executing efforts unknown to the people who now "rule" over Arda, seemingly unchallenged, for the shadow of Morgoth stirs beyond the Void and when he regains his full power, the End begins.
The prophesied Dagor Dagorath will come—the Last Battle that will devastate Arda so it may be made anew by the Second Music of the Ainur. Centuries have passed, but the peace that has settled will soon end as the forces of light and darkness will clash for the fate of Arda. So Fëanáro does not die cursing under the stars.
It softens his temper a little, binds him tighter to his sons. Still, he remains himself - self-aggrandising, wilful and thorned.So Ñolofinwë does not lose his youngest in the battle of Lammoth, and receives weregild.
Begrudgingly, for the good of all, he will co-operate. Yet, though a good man, he is no less proud and ambitious.Can they find a healthy way to co-exist? Perhaps not. They are a little too awful to one another. Still, they will try.
Meanwhile, Elu Thingol's concerns are not unjustified, Artanis and Celeborn court, Findaráto is more than meets the eye, and Lúthien labours to make her own future possible. Can a somewhat better united Beleriand stand against Morgoth?

Summary
The Dagor Dagorath ended. Morgoth was dead.
The Valar need to move on and reweave the world, but they can't take those that have been Marred into the new world. And so, some of the elves and men and dwarves are left behind in Arda Marred.
Nolofinwe wakes up on the day the Sun was supposed to rise in Tirion with the feeling that something is very, very wrong. He doesn't know what it is, but with his brother's help, perhaps they can unravel the tangled threads that are plaguing this new world of theirs.

Hope is fled these lands, their many fates already clear and predetermined. A slaughter comes, that will leave almost none standing. Such is the will of prophecy, destiny and all the powers of this land. All beings of reason should realize so.
But Fëanáro Curufinwë already defied the order of one world. He has no intention to bend his knee to another.
