Tango could see someone wearing a red sweater snicker. “Is there anything we can do?”
The bonded dragon huffed smoke onto the red sweatshirt person whose name Tango couldn’t remember for the life of him. The guy should be lucky Pearl’s dragon didn’t just incinerate him right then and there because the dragons despised disrespect….
“Well, I would say breathe, but some take annoyance to that if you’re a loud breather,” Pearl shrugged. “Be yourself, your respectful self and you have a slight chance of surviving this.”
:Or an AU where Tango is dragon rider who is allowed a chance to bond with a dragon. The dragon that finds him is more alike than Tango might realize at first...

Many years ago, dragons, humans, and hybrids lived in peace. The humans had land and farms, and the dragons had mountains and skies. The hybrids were free to pass through either domain. That was until dragons discovered magic. When the humans found out, they got increasingly jealous. Soon the humans convinced the hybrids that the dragons were too powerful. The hybrids and humans attacked the unsuspecting dragons, wiping out many of them. The remaining dragons refused to fight and turned to hide.Or Scott is a dragon in hiding and stuff happens.

Summary
Blaze-born courtship rituals were a thing that Tango saw as if through a foggy window. He’d been rejected by the Tek Pyre when he was ten, basically the literal instant the pyre rules allowed them to throw him out. Even when he had been living there, he’d been belittled and abused. It was hard, because a lot of the things felt stilted to him, and yet also slotted perfectly into place. Like he should be doing them naturally, and yet had never been taught precisely the right steps, or the correct delivery. Blaze-borns were fire. They were possessive and consuming by nature. Things like courtship necklaces were meant to try and negate some of those feelings before they could turn violent, as far as Tango understood. It was selfish. It was greedy. Yet he couldn’t help himself.
Zed was beautiful. He was brilliant and bright and sun-kissed. He didn’t belong to the dark place where Tango was raised, sputtering and sparking.
Yet Tango couldn't help but want even just a tiny piece of that beauty all to himself.
{in which Tango fails successfully 5 times straight, Zed needs some neosporin for multiple reasons, and there's a very, very conveniently timed power outage}

Mimic ran over to the villain to make sure he didn’t get away. Oscine was already on his knees, standing up to try to get away. His mask was now cracked down the middle and the two halves of it were hanging off his neck by the strap at the back. The villain stood up and turned around, looking back at the heroes but Mimic saw something horrid.
