Summary
It's the first winter after Pitch's defeat. Jack is happy, he's not alone anymore, and his memories are gradually returning. But when a treasure hunt gone wrong puts Jack and Jamie in danger, flinging them through time and space, they find themselves on an island neither of them have heard of before. Jack's first priority is to get Jamie home safe, but Berk's inhabitants - human and otherwise - are certainly not making it easy.
Knowing they will leave Berk and the Vikings behind as soon as they know how to, Jack is not going to risk the pain of growing close to any of these people (or dragons, for that matter). But Hiccup Horrendous Haddock, wearing his heart on his sleeve, doesn't seem to want to take the hint.

The ghost's figure became clearer, but no easier to look at in the darkness of the night. Its form was shimmering and smoky, producing waves of heat that made any sort of clear image impossible to discern from the rest. Somehow, Jimmy couldn't look away. Two glowing red eyes, the only real feature the ghost had, held his terrified gaze, and, despite the overwhelming heat, Jimmy felt himself break into a cold sweat.
He silently prayed that Grian and the others had hidden themselves better than he did. The smudge stick had cloaked their retreat, but it had burned out while he was still out in the open.
The ghost stepped closer.
Jimmy squeezed his eyes shut, preparing for the worst.
"I want you to help me find the person who killed me."

Jimmy really hated lying to his friends.
Which was weird because he was basically doing that all the time. At least normally he lied through omission, this felt a little dirtier. He hoped they wouldn’t worry about him.
He had practically begged the others to wait, even just a day, but they were determined to move now. If he had a few more hours he could handle this without getting the others involved. Of course he’d been hesitant to use his powers -showing his godly side tended to encourage cultists, even when he used it to tell them to fuck off- but obviously he wasn’t going to let Hermes get hurt.

Martyn stepped up to the statue. It was old. Looked like something pulled right out of an old castle's garden, left behind in a forgotten kingdom. The stone was covered in dirt and moss. Additionally, it had cracked and chipped away in certain places. So at first glance, he'd understand why he won with such a low bid. But then he took a moment to look at the... finer details hidden under the filth. His hands moved to follow up on the statue's figure. A gentle yet purposeful hand tracing the shape of the statue's boot to the fine details of its jean stitching. He was looking at a masterpiece hidden under so much dirt it had been sold to him for only a fraction of what it should be worth.
Martyn could forgive himself for ruining the passion he had put into his last piece if it meant he was able to afford a statue of such beauty. Because he was going to put that passion into cleaning this statue.
Or, the Red King's statue is the most beautiful piece of art Martyn has ever seen and he decides to restore it. Once it's completed, the Red King comes to life.

There’s a wall around his town now. A wall. Jimmy can’t even begin to imagine how many blocks it is. How long it must have taken to gather all the materials, all the dye, and how much effort it must have taken to build. And it was built quickly too, practically overnight, otherwise he would have seen it slowly rising into the sky or heard about it from his citizens.
He hates it.
He's tired of the jokes tired of the teasing, and when Joel stops by to mock him, to tell him that, "He's going to have to give in eventually," he takes a moment to consider... what if he actually did?
Not actually! But if he can dress like a doll, if he can act like one, if he can convince everyone that he is one and then make them regret it, then maybe, just maybe, he can get them to stop.
It's going to take training. He's going to have to learn to sew. He'll have to learn to act. He'll need to figure out how to use makeup. And maybe, just maybe, with the help of the citizens that adore him, he can pull it off.

The cloak was midnight-blue with intricate gold patterns stitched into it. He had a distinct memory of seeing those patterns lit up and glowing like a candle flame, and of sitting on a sand dune next to a campfire watching another girl with white hair and a mask sew them, but that was a long time ago, and the cloak’s former splendor had been lost since then. It was tattered to the extent that it was practically just a bundle of rags held together by love and hope. He hardly dared to touch it for fear of finally ruining it, and part of him longed to wear it again, to reach for the skies like he once did with no fear of falling.
He closed the chest and headed for the door, leaving the cloak where it had laid for the past twenty years.

Slowly, ever so slowly, Grian presses down on the handle, then pulls the door open inch by inch, trying to avoid the horrible creaking noise it normally makes.
They all inhale in anticipation. The closet comes into view at a snail’s pace. After an eternity, the crack is wide enough for Grian to poke his head around and peek inside.
It’s pitch black.
Of course it is. Their torches are off! Grian scolds himself for being such an idiot.
Opening the door further, he switches it on, blinding them all briefly as the brightness, then blinks away the spots as his eyes adjust.

“Where to?” His mentor asks, and Merlin shrugs, before going to his room and packing his bag.
“India. Gaius, I have decided I don’t give a damn, especially not when having to eat that bland food. I’ll be back in three months, make sure Arthur doesn’t die when I’m out.”
“Merlin!” And maybe, if he was younger and didn’t travel back to the past last month, he would’ve actually cared about the ‘eyebrow of disapproval’.
Or, a 1500yo Merlin gets zapped to the past during his vacation to Cuba. You’d think he’s happy to see Arthur again. He’s not.
