    -Also his doom powers returned. He is not happy about this.
    -Whisper isn't the only guardian angel on the battlefield
    -The author has given into writing pining to cope. They are aro this is not going to go well.

The attack from infinite already left them in shambles, needless to say, Eggman trailing behind wasn't pretty either. Besides, wasn't Angel Island and the Master Emerald at risk?

    Well, that was its own issue. Especially when the Master Emerald suddenly overpowers Knuckles with chaos energy.

    Sonic and Tails are more than just best friends. They are brothers, and through every hardship that's been thrown at them, they've gotten through it together. But when Infinite's attack leads to Sonic's imprisonment and Tails believing him dead, holding onto hope becomes impossible. Infinite is planning more than just torture for Sonic. He wants to tear apart his mind until he can't tell illusion from reality, or remember if the young fox is his dearest friend or an enemy trying to kill him.

    Tails, meanwhile, refuses to accept that Sonic is dead, and will do anything to get him back. But even if he succeeds, nothing will ever be the same. The war in the outside world continues to destroy everything that the gang holds dear, but when the damage is deep within, how can it ever be rebuilt?

    Meanwhile, on the other side of the battle stands Dr. Eggman, allied with Infinite. But unlike the doctor, the jackal can get bored with watching the world burn all day at times. Luckily, he found himself a brand new toy to play with to pass the free time. Maybe not quite ideal - fur a tad lighter in color and quills more downturned - but similar enough.

    A prequel fic to 'Corruptive Energies', shedding more light onto Sonic's time during the war and revealing the things he himself would not dare say out loud.
