It was clearly young and wasn't wearing a collar, so Laurel decided to take it home with her and hide it in her jacket before Sara and Ava noticed. She couldn't stomach the thought of leaving it there.

Charlie flipped Ava’s suit jacket over her head, pulled back her slacks, and yanked her beige underpants up to her shoulder blades before letting the waistband snap back as ze ran off. Ava spun around just in time to see Charlie booking it out of her sight. A moment later, Sara walked in with a confused look on her face.
“Was that Charlie?” asked Sara, “What was ze doing in h- Oh.”
Ava blushed as Sara watched her hurriedly shove the stretched out elastic back into her pants. She cleared her throat in an attempt to salvage the moment.
“What, indeed!?” demanded Ava angrily, “Your shapeshifter was disguised as YOU, Sara!”
“Ugh! Charlie knows ze’s not supposed to do that,” groaned Sara, “I’ll talk to zyr, I promise.”
“No, Sara!” yelled Ava, “I’ve had enough! I’m going to whip this ship of fools into shape if it kills me! My job depends on it!”
“Ava, I don’t know if that’s-”
“I’m calling an all-hands meeting,” continued Ava, heading out the door.
“...oh boy,” sighed Sara, “This isn’t going to go well.”

In Charlie’s defense, it wasn’t their fault that Welton University spontaneously decided to restart its a-capella “chapter” when they and their friends were freshman. It also wasn’t their fault that Chris Noel invited them and Knox Overstreet to audition. Surely, it couldn’t have been them to blame when the nineteen year-old’s other pieces agreed to break into one of the most “confined rooms” on campus, causing the group to fall under fire with the school’s “guardian seniors”, who just so happened to be Chris and Ginny, presenting them with a “punishment” of participating in the chapter’s annual singing tournament. And the absolute last thing that could have been “their fault” was Todd Anderson’s angelic singing voice.

Charlie had rushed past Mona and snagged the book off the ground. Ze opened to a random page in the middle of the book.
“Oh Mona!" smiled Charlie widely, “How tantalizing! How bawdy!”
“Give that back,” insisted Mona, grabbing at the book.
“Hey now,” said Charlie, stepping back and pulling the book away from her, “I haven’t finished reading, now have I?”
“That’s not funny!” insisted Mona, jumping for the book but unable to reach it, “Charlie!”
Charlie grinned. It was working. Mona was getting more and more irritated. She would transform any second now.
“What’s going on here?” demanded Sara as she rounded the corner.
“Charlie stole my book and ze won’t give it back!” whined Mona.
“...Charlie?” said Sara.
Charlie sighed and rolled zyr eyes, tossing the book back to Mona.
